I Will Love You Either Way

He said, ‘I’ll be waiting’,
Until I am ready,
To reciprocate his love with,
I love you so much already,
But I did say it,
Maybe in unconventional ways,
When I repositioned myself,
To protect you from the sun’s blaze,
Unveiling my unfinished artwork
Right in front of your eyes,
What do you think it was?
When I offered you half my fries,
I made you a mixtape,
With our favorite songs in it,
It was out of love,
Every time I called you dimwit,
Hidden behind the curiosity
When I asked you about the bruises,
‘Oh I was in your neighborhood’
were just a bunch of random excuses
I might have not said the words
In the old standard way,
But doesn’t actions speak louder than words,
No matter what you say?
If you are still waiting
For those words to leave my throat,
All I can say is,
This is your goodbye note
